STUD SERVICESWe offer stud services to superior quality males classed by Dr Jim Watts using the SRS® breeding system. Marriglen Delta is classified as an advanced wool male in the SRS® breeding system with a high density and SP ratio score. His first progeny had great success at Armidale Wool Expo winning 12 ribbons including Champion Junior female and Champion and Reserve Champion Intermediate female. One of his progeny Red Ridge Snow White also won Supreme Champion at Toowoomba Show in 2008 so congratulations to Peter and Shirley Berry. Other breeders using his services have been very happy with the outcome. Our machos are sourced from superior bloodlines. They are early maturing with high fertility levels as this has a direct correlation with enhanced female fertility levels. Drive through or on-farm matings with free agistment up to 60 days is available. There are discount packages for multiple matings. Mobile matings on your farm or transport of your animals to Glenhope can be arranged. Some of our stud males are available for leasing at certain times of the year so please contact us to discuss this possibility.
Marriglen DeltaA solid white male sired by Somerset Peruvian Challenger from the famous Accoyo stud in Peru. Challenger’s progeny was the highest selling female at the 2006 National auction at a price of $64,000. Delta is exceptionally soft and is classified by the SRS® system as an advanced wool male with high density and a bright lustrous well aligned fleece. He has lifted the fleece weight and added softness, lustre and fleece character to his progeny. Delta is a winner of many broad ribbons and has a quiet temperament.
Halcyon Stars & StripesCo owned with Frank and Julienne Gelber of Bumble Hill Alpacas. This young male commenced work at 2 years of age and has a unique genetic background. The dam of Stars, Halcyon Sollacotta Sunbeam, was imported from Peru. She was a dam who exhibited a high density of 65.6, excellent conformation and an exciting fleece. The sire of Stars, Halcyon Alianza Alloro, also from Peru, was selected from a mob of 450 machos for his high density, low primary fibres and good fibre growth with deep bold crimping. Glenhope ChesterSired by Marriglen Delta (an SRS® recommended male) and out of an Illawarra Wenoim dam, Glenhope Glad, who has an excellent frame, low primary fibres and high density. Glenhope Chester is very even across his fleece with a very low standard deviation of his primary (2.5µ) and his secondary(3.0µ) fibres with a high density score. We always have pregnant females and young maidens for sale in white and fawn colours for both pet and top quality markets. Please contact us for further information. We offer advice and assistance to breeders to help meet their goals, and provide full back up help with shearing, animal husbandry and farm set-up. EDUCATION AND SUPPORTWe have established our reputation in the alpaca industry as breeders of quality stock and offer advice and assistance to breeders to help meet their goals. We organise advanced courses on animal health and breeding programmes led by leading practitioners in the alpaca industry. Practical workshops are held each year for people interested in exploring the idea of alpaca breeding or those breeders new into the industry. These one day workshops have proved very popular.
